ELIGIBILITY

Apply Now TaLK is akin to paid international teaching internship and offers a short-term work study. For students who want to develop a global mindset and sharpen their teaching skills before graduating college..

Nationality

  • Applicants must be a citizen of one of the following countries where the national language is English : Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
  • Overseas Koreans who are permanent residents in one of the aforementioned countries, and have completed both primary and secondary education in that country are also eligible
  • Korean citizens who have lived in one of the aforementioned countries as temporary residents for at least 8 years (with the intention of obtaining permanent residency), and who have completed both primary and secondary education in that country.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree candidates who have completed at least two (2) full years of undergraduate education, or Associate's degree holders who completed their education at an accredited post-secondary institution in one of the aforementioned countries.
  • Applicants completing the last semester of the second year are eligible to apply, but the final decision will not be made without the final official transcript indicating completion of two (2) full years of undergraduate study, with eligibility to enter their 3rd year.
  • Individuals who have completed 2 or more years at multiple post-secondary educations must prove that they are eligible to enter at least their 3rd year of education.
  • Applicants with an Associate's degree or completing their final semester are eligible to apply, but the final decision will not be made without the final official transcript with the date of degree conferment indicated.
  • Having completed at least two (2) full years of education is defined by being classified or eligible to enter your 'Junior' year in accordance with your Bachelor's Degree program requirements.

Standard Applicants

  1. Recent graduates and graduate students are also eligible to apply.
  2. Overseas Koreans in their 1st or 2nd year of undergraduate study are eligible if they qualify for the F-4 visa or hold Korean citizenship. They must have completed at least one full semester in a post-secondary (higher) education institution.
  3. Applicants with an Associate’s degree or completing their final semester of the Associate’s degree program must submit the official final transcript, with the date of degree confer indicated
  4. Applicants with a degree not listed above must have their institution provide an official letter along with the official transcript to verify the following:
    • date of degree confer
    • duration of the program (must be at least 2 years)
    • higher education accreditation
    • The instituion itself must be within one of the designated countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States of America
  5. All applicants must be of legal age of majority in their own country AND Korea.

Returning TaLK Scholars (defined by those who have participated in the program once before) are required to have achieved a Bachelor Degree or higher in any discipline, as well as be able to obtain a recommendation letter from their former school's Mentor Teacher, Vice Principal or Principal, in order to be eligible to apply.

Upon arrival in Korea, all TaLK scholars will undergo a mandatory medical checkup, inclusive of drug and major communicable disease testing. If a scholar does not satisfy the health requirements, his/her scholarship will be rescinded.
