PRIVACY POLICY

The Teach and Learn in Korea (TaLK) Program, administered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) and sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MOE), promises to protect the private and security of your visits to this Web site. The following information is TaLK’s online private policy. For inquires regarding our policy, please e-mail us at talkkorea@korea.kr.

  • During the application process, the TaLK Office is required to collect information directly associated with the applicant for the purpose of identification and eligibility. This is information, referred to as “Private Information,” includes names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, passport information, etcetera.
  • TaLK applicants are required to submit private information in order to receive e-mail notifications of their application progress, resources for teaching, and other TaLK-related relevant updates. The TaLK Office will not send e-mails of matters unrelated to the Program.
  • As a general policy of the TaLK Program, the program’s coordinators and staff, and employees or agents of the NIIED and MOE are allowed access to our participants’ private information. In order to gauge the Program and the success of its participants, the TaLK Office may also gather and publish statistics representing applicants/scholars’ countries, states of providence, cities, educational background, gender, race, etc. without disclosing private information.
  • Online submissions of essays, videos and photos, as well as comments, will be treated as public information and may be publish ed or distributed. In addition, the TaLK Office may present your name, location and comments to national leaders and the press.
  • Private information will be deleted when the applicant either withdraws or has been removed from the TaLK Program.
  • TaLK videos have been formally approved by its creators to share with the public. Should our visitors experience difficulties watching videos on the TaLK Web site, or would like to request a copy of our videos, please

  • TaLK maintains an e-mail list of prospective applicants, current, and former scholars to keep its members informed of their appli cation status, TaLK updates and future TaLK-related public relations visits to Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K. and U.S. Members who agree to receive NIIED newsletters and promotional material will be placed on an additional mailing list. The TaLK Office configures the e-mail list of its members only and will do its utmost to protect the list. However, the TaLK Office does not hold liability for unintended failures in preserving subscriber anonymity.
  • As a Korean Government Web site, TaLK uses different means of protecting private information, mainly physical and electronic safeguards. In order to ensure safety of Private Information, please remember to sign out of your account when finished using a shared computer, and always log out of any site when viewing personal information. The TaLK Web site may be linked to other websites, however TaLK, NIIED and MOE are not responsible for the contents or private policies of those sites.
